Yassir CHAKIB is an Associate Partner at UCLAB Studio. UCLAB STUDIO brings together talented entrepreneurs, innovative ideas, and funding to help launch the next wave of high-impact Moroccan and African companies. Within UCLAB, Yassir is particularly involved in projects related to Fintech, Deeptech, and/or AI, offering founders and partners his experience and expertise in these areas.
Before joining UCLAB Studio, Yassir was (and still is) a serial entrepreneur. He founded one of the first Fintech companies in France (Flouss.com/Paytop, which was sold to an investment fund in 2013). He is also the founder of DASIA, a French Deeptech company that develops powerful and innovative AI algorithms in the field of image and video processing.
Yassir has supported several French and African startups through specific support or acceleration programs (Réseaux Entreprendre, GIZ, etc.). A “Moroccan of the World,” Yassir has been based in Morocco since 2021 and is heavily involved in several support and acceleration projects in Morocco and Africa.
Yassir holds an engineering degree from UTC-France/University of Waterloo-Canada and an MBA from HEC Paris.
